I know it’s not exactly perfect, but !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is one beautiful car. Extremely low miles, but not quite low enough to warrant over $10,000. Still, I am in love with this thing. Beautiful colors (although the interior should be white to match the top, or both should be tan) on a beautiful car in immaculate condition.

Side note: Yes, I’m looking at lots of convertible Mustangs for sale. Yes, I want to get one again for my next car. But no, the Escort is not going anywhere unless I find the deal of a lifetime. Part of this Craigslist binge is me being hopeful that my girlfriend will buy one of these for her first car and let me drive it always forever. If only something like this would show up in the so-cheap-you-could-flip-it-for-double-by-doing-absolutely-nothing range...

Edit: after A closer look at the ad I like this car a lot, my prejudiced against Automatics aside, I’d say the price might not be that bad, IF it’s as clean as it looks. if you could talk them down to 9k you be getting something probably as nice, and more unique than a new V6 base Stang, just with less “infotainment”.

I’m trying to wrap my head around the price. It’s easily double what I would have expected, so let’s look at all the things it has going for it.

Aside from the low miles, it appears to have been extremely well-looked after... There’s a very good chance that this is the original owner... Clean and completely unmodified, it’s kind of a unicorn.

Exactly. To me the value here is that it should be a worry free car. It looks about brand new in every picture. And At the same time it should be mechanically reliable, plus it’s a Ford so even though it’s almost 20 years old you should be able to get it worked on anywhere, and parts should be readily available.

The person that buys this car will be some one who want’s something special, but not anymore work than a new car.

My grandfather is selling his ‘98 Mustang V6 convertible with 60,000 miles on it. Red exterior with tan interior/top. Absolutely mint condition. He wants $5,000 for it, which is down from a crazy $9,500.
